2007 Melbourne Cup Carnival

The Business Club Australia corporate networking program around the 2007 Melbourne Cup carnival brought together 60 International and Australian business leaders during AAMI Victoria Derby Day on 3 November and Emirates Melbourne Cup Day on 6 November.

BCA guests on Derby Day represented a range of industries including food and beverage, cosmetics, business & finance and defence. Australian clients used the opportunity to meet new business contacts and strengthen existing networks by hosting clients from the United States of America, Columbia, China and the United Kingdom.

On Melbourne Cup Day, BCA hosted a large delegation of racehorse owners from South Korea with representatives from Magic Millions, William Inglis and Sons and Aushorse. This group included new and existing owners of Australian racehorses and whose business interests spanned various industries including pharmaceutical and advertising.

Education & training providers, RMIT, also hosted clients from some of China’s largest airlines (Air China & China Eastern). RMIT provides training and testing services to the pilots and ground/air staff of Air China, China Eastern and China Southern.

BCA provided exclusive corporate hospitality packages to members who could demonstrate a strong business case that the hosting of their international guest would benefit their exporting efforts and to international customers interested in establishing contacts with Australian exporters.

Successful applicants received complimentary racecourse admission, access into the International Lounge located in the new Birdcage Stable development, racebook and food and beverages throughout the day.
