Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006 Survey Results

Results of the survey of members who participated in Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006 (surveyed July 2006) are outlined below:

  • 19 export deals valued at A$6.8 million have been confirmed.
  • 141 companies expect sales over next 3 years.
  • 70% expect sales to begin within 12 months (the rest within three years)
  • Deals across a mix of commonwealth and non-commonwealth countries – India, US, UK, China, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore.
  • 1 in 4 achieved or expect to achieve a sustainable international business relationship
  • 28% said that the program had at least some impact on their capability to begin, grow and/or sustain exports.
  • 52% of Australian members said that they were able to increase their awareness of international business opportunities.
  • 63% of international members said that the program had significantly increased their awareness of Australia as a place to do business.
  • 1 in 5 said that participating in the program has significantly impacted on their likelihood to invest in and/or import from Australia.
  • 29% said that the program is likely to have a significant impact on improving their business networks.
  • 82% members wish to stay involved in future BCA programs.
  • 20 members indicated that they had identified a new potential investment opportunity (joint venture or strategic alliance, expansion of existing Australian operations and a new greenfield operation)
