The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) created Business Club Australia to foster international business opportunities around major sporting events
Launched in 2000 for the Sydney Olympics, the Club has run successful programs for the Rugby World Cup 2003 and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Membership is free and offers companies the opportunity to promote their company and establish new business contacts through: business matching, networking events, corporate hospitality, international business information.
To date the Club has held over 260 networking events in Australia and overseas, there are 8,500 members (approx. 34% from overseas) and the program has facilitated over A$1.7bn in business deals.
